Liver Health
A change in liver enzyme ALT observed in a 24 week human trial
In a trial of 70 middle aged adults with liver values near the upper limit of normal, ALT was lower in the glucoraphanin group than with placebo after adjustment for baseline values.

| Satomi · 2022 70 healthy adults aged 45–65 |
GLR 60mg/day · 24 weeks placebo controlled · 35 assigned to each group | A difference in ALT versus placebo at 24 weeksFinding: Median ALT changed from 36 to 29 U/L in the GLR group and from 35 to 30 U/L with placebo. The baseline adjusted endpoint comparison had p = 0.041. Context: A trial in adults with liver values near the upper limit of normal. AST and glutathione did not differ significantly. |

GLR 30mg/day · sprout extract 2 months · placebo controlled | Median ALT in intake group: 54.0 → 48.5 IU/LFinding: Liver enzymes and a urinary oxidative damage marker fell in the intake group. ALT values are within group medians. Context: The intake group changed from baseline, but the liver enzyme decrease did not differ significantly from placebo. |
