Liver enzymes and oxidative damage markers in men with fatty liver
Would sprout extract change liver enzymes and oxidative damage markers in men with fatty liver?
Human and animal · controlled human trial and mechanistic research

Key findings
Changes in liver enzymes from baseline
Median ALT in the intake group decreased from 54.0 to 48.5IU/L, and γ-GTP also decreased. The between-group difference in liver enzyme reductions was not clear.
Oxidative damage markers
Median urinary 8-OHdG decreased from 6.66 to 5.49ng/mg creatinine and was associated with changes in liver enzymes.

Study design
Fifty-five men with fatty liver and elevated liver enzymes were enrolled; data from 52 were analyzed. They took sprout extract with GLR 30mg/day or placebo for two months, alongside a separate rat experiment.
