24 weeks of glucoraphanin intake and ALT
Would ALT differ in healthy middle-aged adults whose liver enzyme levels were near the upper limit of normal?
Human · randomized double-blind controlled trial

Key findings
ALT comparison at study end
Median ALT changed from 36 to 29U/L in the GLR group and from 35 to 30U/L in the placebo group. The baseline-adjusted between-group comparison at 24 weeks had p=0.041.
No difference in other measures
There were no significant between-group differences in AST or blood glutathione.

Study design
Seventy adults aged 45–65 were assigned, 35 each, to glucoraphanin 60mg/day or placebo. Liver enzymes and blood glutathione, among other measures, were evaluated over 24 weeks.
